COLLEEN BUTLAND-SAMPLE Peacefully, on April 20, 2008 after a lengthy illness and courageous battle Colleen is at rest. Predeceased by her father, George Butland in 2005, Colleen is survived and remembered with love by her husband Keith, son Kolby, daughter Carin, son-in-law Chris and precious grandsons Terik and Nolan. Her mother Stella (Armond) and brothers, Allan (Edie) and Keith (Kathy) and their children, Bailey, Dale, Carly and Katy grieve her passing as well. Colleen's community of extended family and friends are deeply saddened by her passing. Colleen was born and raised in Oakbank. She met her husband Keith in 1978 and they welcomed their son Kolby in 1980 and daughter Carin in 1982. Colleen's life was further enriched by the birth of her grandsons Nolan and Terik. Colleen's compassion and heartfelt concern for people led her to pursue opportunities where she could help. These included volunteering for the Springfield Ambulance Service and for many years driving school bus for the Transcona Springfield School Division. Colleen found joy driving students with special needs. Colleen was a very special woman who impacted the lives of so many. Her friends and extended family were treasures in her life and her love was returned fully. During her long illness, Colleen's incredible strength was an inspiration to everyone. Also grieving Colleen's passing are her pets and constant companions, Strider and Gypsy. The family would like to thank Sandy and Karen and the staff of North Eastman Health Association as well as all the staff at CancerCare Manitoba for their support outstanding care and generous help. We would like to give a special thank you to Wheeler Funeral Chapel for making all funeral arrangements. They have been very generous and supportive during this trying time. The memorial service and celebration of Colleen's life is planned for May 3, 2008 at Oakbank United Church at 3:00 p.m. Colleen's spiritual advisor Rev. Clare Walker of Toronto will officiate.
