Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GLADYS EGESZ (SEMENEK) (nee PALAGHIAN) Peacefully, on April 26, 2008, our dearly beloved mother, grandma and great-grandma Mary Egesz passed away at the age of 86. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Ivin Semenek (Ute), grandchildren, Mark and Tara (Rob) Robillard, great-grandchildren, Mason and Chancellor; Alvin (Joann), grandchildren, Stacey (Corey) McCracken and Randy (Amber); George (Maddy), daughter-in-law Lorraine Audette, grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) and Cory (Isabelle); step-daughter Irene Caldwell, grandchildren, Dianne Broughton (Allan), great-grandchildren, Cara, Michael, Joanna and Heather; Myrna Dyck (David), great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Timothy and Jordan; David Zipnik, great-grandchildren, Jason and August; step-children, Nancy Chomiak (Ken), grandchildren, Daniel and Abby; Dennis Egesz; Gerald (Nadine) Egesz, Sid (Del) Egesz, grandchildren, Charlene, Scott and Stephen. She is survived by two brothers, Bill and Ted, and two sisters, Agnes and Vera. Our mom was predeceased by her first husband Alexander Semenek on September 13, 1974 and her second husband Bert Egesz on May 12, 2001. She was also predeceased by her parents Mike and Dora Palaghian; brothers, Alexander and Nick, sisters, Victoria, Margaret and Helen; and her dearly loved daughter-in-law Sadie Semenek. Mary was born in Endeavour, Saskatchewan on February 8, 1922, Mary met Alex in Wadena, Saskatchewan. They married and together raised three boys, Ivin, Alvin and George. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1945. After Mary raised her boys, she worked for many years at Crown Zelerbach and enjoyed her work immensely. Mary and Alex enjoyed 32 years together. In 1975 Mary married Bert Egesz and they enjoyed their retirement for 26 years. They spent 21 winters together in Hawaii and loved every minute of the time spent there. They also travelled to numerous points in the United States, Canada, England and Ireland. She enjoyed her extended family greatly. Mary was very involved in Calvin Presbyterian Church, working and volunteering in various women's groups. She spent her last years at Rosh Pina Retirement Home, where she met many new friends (especially Doris Penny) and enjoyed her retirement. The family would to thank the nurses (especially Athena, Heloise and Janice) and staff for the excellent care she received at Seven Oaks Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. 586-8044
