His sense of humour and positive outlook on life will be cherished by us all. Charlie had a strong work ethic that included market gardening, the sugar beet factory, truck driving and a landscaping business. There was nothing more fulfilling to him than lending a helping hand to the various home and lake projects that his children were working on. Charlie's love of family gave him the strength and courage to overcome many health issues which in turn gave his family many more years of quality time with him. Because of his love of curling, he was involved in various aspects of the local curling club. After retirement, travel with their motor home became a large part of Anne and Charlie's leisure time. Texas eventually became their winter home where they enjoyed the company of many friends and family. Over the last few years, Charlie took great pleasure in fishing at Lac du Bonnet. Very special thanks to all of the staff at the personal care home for their extraordinary and loving care both to Charlie and his family. A celebration of Charlie's life will be held at St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Father Gérald Michaud will be presiding. Viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home Social Activities Fund.
