HANS ERICH KAUFMANN 1927 - 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and Opa, Hans, on April 25, 2008 with his family by his side. Hans is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carla; sons, Matt (Angie), Andy (Cathy) and daughter Stephanie (Ian); grandchildren, Courtney, Michelle, Matthew, Chelsea Kaufmann, Alexis and Andrew Carmichael. Born in Dresden, Germany, Hans brought his wife and young son to Canada in 1959 where they took up residence in Dryden, Ontario. In 1964, Hans moved his wife and sons to Winnipeg where he and Carla were blessed with a daughter to complete their family. Hans was a Jack of all trades who could fix anything. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending many pleasant summers camping and boating in Manitoba and Ontario surrounded by his family. One of his favourite pastimes was woodworking, where he built everything and anything for those he loved. The family would like to thank Dr. A. Leylek and Debbie at CancerCare Manitoba, as well as Dr. B. Paunovic, Richel Roque and Laura Bantados at the Health Sciences Centre for their caring and compassion. A celebration of Hans' life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans' memory to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160 - 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
