DEBRA (DEBBIE) LYNN CAHILL (nee CHASE) It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, niece and friend, Debbie Cahill, on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 51, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband of 19 years, Barrie; their beloved son Michael; mother Mary Klymochko; sisters, Diana (Don), Donna (Rob); brother Kenny (Brenda); nephews, Josh, Skyler, Kael; nieces, Bailey, Markye; auntie Roberta (Brian) and her cousins, Craig, Cathy (Joe), Jeff (Kelly). Debbie will be deeply missed by her many relatives and special friends, Joan, Jenny, Mary Ann, Shirley, Joyce, Neale, Marg and so many others (including her cats, Chica and Calico)! Debbie was predeceased by her brother Bob; sister Cathy; uncle Ron; father Robert Chase; dad Steve Klymochko; grandparents, Grace and Sam Moore, Bob and Allie Chase, Steve and Anna Klymochko, and most recently her cat Jackie. Debra Lynn Chase was born in Winnipeg on October 15, 1956. She was raised in Transcona and graduated from Murdoch McKay Collegiate in 1974. Debbie loved animals, reading, travelling with friends, family vacations, puzzles, cards, games and get-togethers with loved ones. Debbie was a loving, happy person who made so many friends throughout her life. She maintained relationships fostered through her school years, the neighbourhood Coldstream gang , her colleagues at M.P.I.C., Via Rail, Premier Gymnastics and over the past 15 years working at Dr. Bernstein's orthodontist office in Colony Square. During her recent hospital stay she really appreciated and enjoyed the many visits from family, friends and co-workers. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital on 5E, Emergency, Oncology and Palliative, for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Debbie and her family during the past two months. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2:30 p.m. at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. W. with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted in Debbie's memory towards the purchase of Wesley, a mine-sniffing dog, a fund-raiser strongly participated in by her son Michael, c/o University of Winnipeg Collegiate, 2W04-515 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2E9.
