MOYA HILDA LIDDLE 1920 - 2008 Peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2008, Moya Liddle passed away at the Betel Home in Gimli. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert Liddle of 60 years, her sons Rex, John (Linda), David (Karen) grandsons Allan, Jason (Sylvie), granddaughter Jenny (Chad), grandson Clifford (Kerri) and grandson Will and granddaughter Kelsy, she is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She will fondly be remembered by her sisters Betty and Anne (Les), brothers Peter (Maureen) and Michael (Bibs) who reside in England and her brother Jeffery (Ethne) who resides in BC. As well as her brother-in-law Norm (Cassie), sisters-in-law Katherine (Ted), Irene, Helen and Marion from Ontario. She was predeceased by her brother in laws Doug, Dinny, Jack and Henry. Moya was born on April 19, 1920 in New Malden, England. She grew up in England and married Harold Franklin. Moya came to Canada in 1945 with her son Rex, his dad was a casualty of the war. She arrived here in order that Rex could meet his dad's parents. In 1947 she married Robert Liddle in London, Ontario. She lived in various parts of Ontario until Robert took employment in Manitoba. Moya and Robert lived in Winnipeg for four years and in Gimli for 28 years. Moya was a very active member of the board at Shorepoint Village, and member of the local art club. She loved to garden, there were many interesting herbs for her friends and family to sample and flowers to smell. Moya loved the outdoors she spent time collecting wild flowers, going on walks and bird watching. Some of her grandchildren's fondest memories are her walks with them. Moya was a wonderful cook, she could open a fridge door and create a gourmet meal in a matter of minutes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli with Pastor Trudy Thorarinson officiating. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion provided to Moya by the nurses and staff of Betal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gimli Animal Shelter. Gilbert Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
