Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD BROWNLEE Peacefully, with his family by his side, Don passed away on April 29, 2008 at the Poseidon Care Centre at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Islay Brownlee; his brother Tom Brownlee; aunts, Magdalen and Susan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Mary; his five children, Mary Ellen (Les), Tom (Heather), John (Lauris), Doug (Jo-Ann), Don (Cynthia); and his 10 grandchildren, Jeff (Colleen), Lori (Chris), Steven (Charlene), Kevin, Scott, Cody, Dana, Nicole, Evan and Carter. Also his cousin Margaret Ann and her husband Dr. Ted Cuddy. Don was born on January 2, 1926 in Winnipeg before moving to Thunder Bay in his youth. It was there he met and married the love of his life, Mary and where they raised their family. Don worked for the Canadian National Railways for 35 years as a Rail Traffic Controller and it was in this capacity the family was transferred to Winnipeg in 1970. Don was always involved in sports, especially hockey and baseball and was very proud of being an N.H.L. Scout for the then expansion Minnesota North Stars. Upon retirement at age 54, Don and Mary enjoyed many winters away in sunny Arizona where he and Mary continued to make many friends and enjoy life. Don was a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #90. The family would like to thank all the exceptional staff at the Poseidon Care Centre. Especially the staff of the third floor and Dr. Smart. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Don's favourite charity, Operation Eyesight Universal, 4 Parkdale Crescent NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 3T8 (1-800-585-8265) THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Send expressions of sympathy to www.mem.com
