(DAVID) JONATHON MARSH On April 29, our son and brother Jonathon found peace in the arms of his Lord and Saviour. Jonathon was born in Winnipeg on May 26, 1971, and passed on in the presence of his family, at the Health Sciences Centre. The wonderful and very caring staff of the Health Sciences Centre A5 Stepdown and S.I.C.U. treated Jonathon with tremendous compassion and we know he would want to express his thanks for their efforts on his behalf. Jonathon met all of life's challenges with passion, strength and determination. In recognition, he was awarded a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship. Jonathon overcame many hardships in his life and found much strength in his faith. He was very active in Evangel Chapel Church, and was always willing to offer his time and energy for various church programs, including a number of overseas missions. In his youth, Jonathon loved to participate in sports and entered many middle distance wheelchair road races across the country. Jon graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate in 1989. At the time of his passing, he was working towards his degree in Criminology at the University of Winnipeg, to add to his Certificate in Criminology from Red River College. While studying hard, he still found time to volunteer with Manitoba Youth Justice, and served on the Tri-Wings Residents' Council at Riverside Lions Estates. Jonathon is survived by his mother Caryl, father Dr. David (step-mother Helene), brothers Steven (Tina) and Colin, niece Shae-Lynn and nephew Vincent. He is also survived by step-sisters Bernadette Romance and Margaret (Allan) Akins, step-brothers Philip (Isabelle) Marion and Dollard (Sandy) Marion, numerous step-nieces and nephews as well as his cat Sizi. Jon also leaves many relatives in England. The family does not mourn Jon's passing in as much as we give thanks for the happiness and joy he brought to the many lives he touched. We invite you to join us in celebrating Jonathon's life at Evangel Chapel, 1073 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, on Monday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. (Reception to follow) In lieu of flowers, a donation to Evangel Chapel Overseas Missions and/or the Siloam Mission would be in keeping with Jonathon's wishes.
