Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUZ LLORICO LAFORTEZA Luz Llorico Laforteza (nee Estante) passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 30, 2008 at her daughter's residence at the age of 72 years. She was born on April 29, 1936 in Iloilo City, Philippines and immigrated to Canada on October 1, 1969. Luz was predeceased by her husband Reynald O. Laforteza in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son: Maria Theresa Mann (Wes and Emily), Jerry Laforteza (Nancy, Benedict and Kyle). She left numerous extended family including: Salon family (Bong, Abby, Aidan, Jacob and Christy), Labit family (Bing, Orly, Lee and Girlie), Estante family (Jeany and Tommy), Diaz family (William, Bibeth, Alvin and Christine), Senon family in Seattle (Terry, Constan and kids), Karns family in Seattle (Jocelyn, Larry, Christopher and Magdalena), Villanueva family in Sparks, Nevada, in Texas (Mency, Oscar and family), Laforteza from Phoenix, Arizona (Jessie, Ning and family). She had further extended family from California and The Philippines. She loved travelling to the American northern states, she loved cooking, sewing and gardening. She was supported by many friends, neighbours and co-workers during her last months and is recognized. We would like to extend our thanks to all medical staff at the Grace and St. Boniface, Health Sciences Centre hospitals as well as all home care staff and palliative care staff during her last few months on earth. Lamay and Prayers will be held from Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Sunday, May 4, 2008. Lamay commences at 6:00 p.m. with Prayers being held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008 with Father Philip Malayil celebrant.
