Date of Passing: May 01, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULA TAYLER MAJOR Peacefully with her family by her side on May 1, 2008 Paula lost her life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Paula leaves to cherish her memory, her mother and father, Jan Semeniuk and Paul Major, and her brothers, Tyler Major and Gray Major. She will also be remembered and missed by aunts and uncles, Tammy (Adam), Cory (Vicki), Dean (Khristine), Mark (Cindy), Kriss (Ron) and grandmas and grandpa, Anita and Lloyd Semeniuk, and Thelma Major as well as her loving cousins, and special friends Jan and Ralf. Predeceased by uncle Andy Semeniuk who waits for her in heaven. Born June 19, 1991, Paula's time with us was too short, but in that time she was a light in our lives. Much of her time was spent in and out of hospital. During that time her mother Jan's devotion to her daily care created a loving bond that will never be broken. Paula's sense of humor and fighting spirit were always an inspiration to her family and friends. The Doctor's and nursing staff on CH5 Children's Hospital, who cared for Paula during her early years also became a part of the fabric of Paula's life. We would like to thank them for their kindness and care during that time. Through the selfless act of organ donation 5½ years ago, Paula received a great gift when she became the recipient of lungs through a transplant. Those five years were magical! Paula for the first time in her life could take a real breath and live a normal life. She took full advantage of her gift and lived her life to the limits. Like most young girls she loved clothes, make-up and shopping with her friends. Her phone was never out of reach and text messages and calls were never ending. Paula loved to laugh and tease and even when she was a teenager would sit in her Dad's lap and share some secret joke. Paula loved a party and was happiest when she was with all her family for a barbeque, or at Grandma's for Christmas. Paula attended school at John Gunn and had begun high school at Transcona Collegiate. The family would like to thank the transplant team at Health Sciences Centre and the Cystic Fibrosis team at Children's Hospital. Our thanks also go to the Doctor's and nursing staff on MICU 4th floor Health Sciences Centre, who treated Paula and our Family with such dignity and compassion through this difficult time. A service to honor Paula's life will take place on Monday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Place of Grace Church (formerly Elmwood Reform Church), 1040 Beach Ave. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada at www.ccff.ca. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE (AT BOND) 224-1525
