LAVINIA (LOVIE) LEESON Peacefully at her residence on Friday, May 2, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lovie, passed away at age 83. She was predeceased by her father John, mother Blanche, and sister Lil. She is survived by her husband Dick; brother Eugene (Cecile) Carson; brother-in-law Herb (Helen) McMullin; four sons, Barry (Anne), Daryl, Tom (Holly), Brent (Debbie); grandchildren, Jaime (Mark), Keri (Dave), Matthew, Charlene (Mark), Ryan, Lance (Ashley), Brent, Jason (Karen), Corey (Kerri), Jenna and Jared. Great-grandchildren, Trinity, Tosh, Veronica, Evan, Noah, Laura, Tye, Tia, and Samantha. Also survived by niece Janice (Les); nephews, Gary (Brandy), Don (Nancy) and cousin Bill from Vancouver and many other cousins. Lovie was born November 30, 1924 in Winnipeg and grew up and went to school in Transcona. She married Dick on June 8, 1946. She worked for the Eatons Co. and later the family business (Red River Messenger). She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Ladies auxiliary of the Army Navy. Her greatest love in life was music and people. She looked forward to hearing from her special friends Joan and Florence who faithfully called her every day. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lovie's special girls from Homecare and family friend Al Doherty who made her life at home possible and comfortable. Thanks to Aisha who made her final days special. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day Street with Rev. Fraser Hunter officiating. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jason, Corey, Ryan, Matthew Leeson and her nephews, Gary and Don Carson.
