EVANGELINE REKUNYK (nee SACHARKO) Evangeline Rekunyk (nee SACHARKO) of Rossburn, Manitoba formerly of Winnipeg passed away at the Rossburn Health Center on May 2, 2008 at the age of 74 years. Evangeline was born in the R.M. of Grandview on April 12, 1934 to Mike and Mary Sacharko. They moved to Rossburn when she was two years old. She met Nester Rekunyk and on June 27, 1959 they were married. They lived and worked in Winnipeg for over 40 years. Upon retirement they moved back to Rossburn. She was a loving sister and aunt. Family was her whole life. She enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, putting in flowers and preparing meals. But her greatest joy was spending time with family. If there was something she could do with her husband, or her brother, even down to chopping wood in the forest, she would do it. She will be long remembered and sadly missed for the wonderful things she did for others. Evangeline is predeceased by her parents, her brother Bill, and brother-in-law Steve Blacher. She leaves to mourn her husband Nester; sister Nellie Blacher; brother Ephraine (Alice) Sacharko; sister-in-law Sylvia Sacharko and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. The service to celebrate her life will be held at the Rossburn Community Church on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Rossburn Municipal Cemetery.
