ALFRED JAMES BIRD June 10, 1959 May 5, 2008 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of Alfred James Bird aged 48 years of Black River, Manitoba announce his passing on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Alfred is survived by his loving wife Lillian (Munchie), his children Shannon (Chad), Glenda (Preston), Billy and step-daughter Crystal (Desmond), grandchildren Jascie, Jacob, Emmy (Crumb), Jorja, and Alfred Josiah, his siblings Stuart (Wilma), Harold (Gladys), Florence, Harriet (Cameron), Darlene (Russell), Bouchard, Nelson (Suzanne), Herman (Gloria), Elsie (Morgan), Susan (Waldo), Elaine, Cheryl (Lionel), Amy, Pat (Edwin) and Curtis. Also surviving are his in-laws Bill and Mary Rose Abraham, sister-in-law Annette (William), brothers-in-law George, and Gerald (Mary), aunties Flora Jane Houston, Verna Mann and Joyce Courchene as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Virginia, sister Kimberly, uncle Stuart (Manamaag), nephews Kimbii and Darion. Wake services will be held at the family home house #86 Black River First Nation beginning Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Georges Anglican Church with Rev. Nancy and Rev. Richard Bruyere officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor Bird, Chris Bear, Lionel Daniels, George Abraham, Preston Harry and Morgan Ramsey. The family would like to thank the doctors and Nursing Staff of the St. Boniface Hospital, Pine Falls Hospital and the Health Sciences Center for the care and compassion shown to Alfred and our family. FACING THE UNKNOWN: Kind and caring God, my once secure life now Holds tremendous change. Come into my turmoil and quiet my anxiety. Be there with the gifts of your peace and guidance. Let me not be overwhelmed with the fear of the unknown. Grant me the ability to face what awaits me.
