ADELINA SHERBO Adelina Sherbo, born December 12, 1919, deceased May 5, 2008 at the Riverview Health Centre. Survived by her daughter, Sera Smith (George Janzen), son-in-law Lou Harmel, grandchildren, Marie (Tim) Tyrrell, Joey (Sandi) D'Amico, Joanne Asselin, Nicki (Kitch) Wilson, Alf Goodall (Lynne Donaldson), Lorne (Taralyn) Goodall, Jodi Harmel (Shawn Arnal); great-grandchildren, Holly and Jack Tyrrell, Chianna and Katrina D'Amico, Andrew Asselin, Kailie and Kitchener Wilson, Lauren Goodall, Tyler Arnal. Also survived by her sisters, Angelina Maruca, Virginia Cosentino and Sera (Joe) Cantafio and sisters-in-law, Kay Sherbo and Rose Sherbo; also cousins, nieces and nephews and families in Canada and U.S. Also, Diane (Mark) Cox, extended family. She was most sadly predeceased by her daughter, Lani Harmel in June 2004. Broken hearted, she was never the same again! Predeceased by her parents, Arcangelo and Maria Sherbo, her sister Carmelina Fiorentino, brothers Tony Sherbo and Peter Sherbo, and brothers-in-law, Frank Maruca and Gus Cosentino. Also her god-daughter and niece, Rose (Maruca) Busilla, and a son-in-law, Gary Smith. Always impeccably and fashionably dressed, Mom was a perfectionist and this showed in her life-long career first as a seamstress and later as a fur finisher for well known fur companies. She was proud of her heritage and especially her family, and chose to live at the Villa Cabrini where there were many family connections, and where she could entertain and proudly introduce grandchildren and great-grandchildren at Villa dinners. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Brian Sharkey for many years of dedicated and sincere care! Thanks also to Florence Misurka, Palliative Case Co-ordinator for endless efforts. Special thanks to Dr. G. Crawford, Dr. P. Manuel and all staff of 3East, Palliative Care, Riverview Health Centre for their professional care, spiritual care, compassion, patience and humor shown to mom and all of us during this difficult time. The struggle is over, Mom. Peace at last, with our Lord. Prayers will be said on Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Road, with Monsignor Norman Chartrand P.A. presiding. Interment will be in Waverley Memorial Gardens.
