Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY NEIL BENSON July 6, 1939 - May 4, 2008 With peace, tranquility, and his loving wife of 42 years, Laura, by his side, Roy passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the age of 68. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Patricia and David; older brother Lloyd; and son-in-law Colin Waskul. Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laura; his children Allison Waskul, and David (Danielle); grandson Andrew Waskul, and adopted son Eric (Jen) Wilkinson. Roy was born on July 6, 1939 in Swan River, Manitoba. After exploring the virtues of constructing the small city of Thompson, Manitoba, Roy found the profession of his true calling: teaching. Working primarily in special education, Roy taught and mentored many youth and adults across Manitoba: Jackhead First Nation, Gillam, Headingley, St. James Collegiate, Credit Union Central, and Churchill to name but a few. To say that Roy had a profound influence on the lives of many would be an understatement. Roy had many hobbies and interests including politics, boating, and classic sports cars but his greatest joy in life came from raising his children and being a loving, devoted husband. The family would like to thank the staffs of Unit 5A at the Health Sciences Centre and Unit 5W at the Deer Lodge Centre for their tremendous care of Roy over the past months. A memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charities of their choice. GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
