HENRY EITZEN

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY EITZEN Peacefully, on May 4, 2008, with family by his side, Henry passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 82 years. Henry was born June 8, 1925 to parents, Cornelius and Tina Dueck Eitzen; in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. He worked as a farm hand, and at Cartright Creamery for a time, and in the fall of 1949, Henry left for the big city. Henry was a person of devotion and integrity, a man who understood a hard day's work. He was employed in many seasonal jobs and in 1955 started working at J.H. Ashdown Hardware Wholesale (Acklands) where he spent the next 32 years. Henry was married to Margaret Martens on April 23, 1955. His main focus was family. Henry and Margaret were blessed, with three children, Sharon Caya, Lorraine and Robert Radawetz, and Ronald Eitzen and five grandchildren, Katrina and Rebecca Caya and Kyle, Dayna and Corey Radawetz. Henry made a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be sadly missed by many. He touched us all in different ways and will never be forgotten. Henry has two surviving sisters, Anna Eitzen and Agatha Eitzen Wall as well as and one sister-in-law Betty Klassen Eitzen Giesbrecht. He also has many nieces and nephews, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, many cousins and friends. Dad was predeceased by his mother and father, his brothers Peter and John, and his nephew Patrick. We wish to thank family and friends who visited Henry while in hospital and a special Thank You to all the wonderful staff at Concordia Hospital and especially at 3W and 1N for their special care and compassion. Viewing will be held at 12:30 Friday, May 9, 2008 at Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay with the Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Henry's name to the Concordia Foundation.
