Wilf put up a long brave battle with cancer but lost, with most of his children and his wife by his side. He is survived by his children, Debbie, Didi (Darrell), Rick (Madelaine), Denise (Larry), Donna (John), Barbara (Tony), Sandy (Kevin), grandchildren, Del, Michelle, Chris, Ricci Jean, Shawn, Ben, Steven, Skyler, Raina, Sterling, Maxwel, great-grandchildren, Boston, Jessie, Jackson, Nathan, wife Silke, sister May, sister-in-law Lucille and numerous nephews and nieces and their children. He is predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Abbie, Gordon and sister Marion. Throughout his life, Wilf was well known for his musical and hockey talents. In his retirement years his passion was golf. He was a truly special person and will be dearly missed by many in the communities of Selkirk (Interlake), Winnipeg, Churchill, MB and Fort St. John, BC. On the wings of a snow white dove, he sends his pure sweet love, a sign from above, on the wings of a dove. A celebration of life will be held August 30, 2008. (Contact Debbie 780-439-9461 for details). A memorial service will be held in Churchill in the near future (date to be announced).

I remember Denise being away in Wpg when we were in gr 5 living in Ft Churchill...when she came home her dad had adopted "Bucky", from a man moving south. To walk into her home and see her little sister laying on the huge beast most kids were afraid of was a sight I will never forget. One word from Bernice and that dog was doing what was commanded.. Great family.. wishing you all well...just stumbled across your dad's notice, sorry for your loss..Shannon - Posted by: shannon a (old friend of Denise) on: Feb 08, 2022
