ANNIE TKACHUK (nee DRUZYK) 1912 - 2008 It is with great sadness that our beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, Annie Tkachuk, passed away May 6, 2008, at the age of 96, at the Vita Personal Care Home. Annie was born May 2, 1912 in Gardenton, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Kost, son Johnny, four sisters and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her children, William (Doreen) Tkachuk of Menisino, MB, Mary Dueck of Gimli, MB and Jean (Mike) Shypit of Sprague, MB. Also left to mourn are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Annie married Kost Tkachuk in 1930. They farmed for 13 years in Gardenton, MB, and 33 years in Menisino, MB. Annie retired to Vita, MB in 1976. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important part of her life. She spent many hours in her garden, loved cooking, canning, knitting, crocheting, and needlework. She will be deeply missed by all her family. Prayers will be held Friday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel Vita, Manitoba. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Vita, MB, interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and staff of the Vita Personal Care Home for the compassionate care they gave our mother / baba.
