Date of Passing: May 07, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPHINE (JO) KLASSEN (BURGOYNE) March 12, 1929 - May 7, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jo Klassen on the morning of May 7, 2008 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Kenora. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Marie Allanson, nephews John (Carolyn), Bill (Marilyn) and great-nephews Tyler Allanson, Travis Allanson, Ryan Allanson and Shawn Allanson. Jo was predeceased by her parents Charles and Ina Burgoyne, brother-in-law John Nelson Allanson, and her beloved husband Frank Klassen in 1999. Jo grew up in Keewatin and loved it. Childhood friends were friends always. Jo met Frank and they were married on July 19, 1958. Over the years they enjoyed many vacations to Hawaii and Arizona and many other destinations. Jo worked many years for TD Bank in Kenora and then in Winnipeg. When Frank retired in 1988 they chose to make Keewatin their home after living in Winnipeg for a number of years. Laughter and love came easy to Jo. Family and friends will remember always the love she bestowed upon each one. Quick with a joke, loved puzzles and word games, bingo, watching curling and baseball. Jo loved Lake of the Woods and family times down the lake were happy memories. Memorial Service for Josephine Klassen is Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre. Luncheon to follow at St. Andrew's United Church, 211 Bay Street, Keewatin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake of the Woods District Hospital or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care of Josephine. Memories Cherished I will remember the laughter, Not the tears. The joys we shared, Not the sorrows. The smell of a summer day, The sounds of the waves and of the birds above As we sat together on a beach, Enjoying the beauty around us. The talks we had, the secrets we shared And the memories we made together, They are forever in my heart Jo. In Heaven those that have gone before you And who you have missed so much, Are waiting... God is holding out His arms to you and you Must go... Always and forever in our hearts JO. Love Marilyn Online condolences may be made at www.brownfuneralhomekenora.com
