PAUL WILLIAM CAPEK November 2, 1959 - May 8, 2008 Peacefully on May 8 at 2:15 a.m. at the St. Boniface Palliative Unit, with his brother Rob by his side, Paul slipped away from this life after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 48. Paul is survived by his mother Anita, brothers, Jim (Donna), Rob (Janet), and sister MaryAnne. Also remembering Uncle Paul are Shane, Kevin, Alicia, Ryan and Lauren. Paul was predeceased by his father Andrew and brother Michael, who are waiting to guide him on his journey to his next life. Paul grew up and spent his life in Transcona. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed time fishing, barbecuing and walking. He loved his auto racing and old movies. Paul had a gentle soul and was an independent person who cherished his privacy. He loved animals and was known to bring stray cats home on more than one occasion. The family would like to extend special thanks to Paul's neighbour and friend Joe for all the kind help in this difficult time. They would also like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of St. Boniface Palliative Care for providing Paul with dignity in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or St. Boniface Palliative Care. Viewing will be held Monday, May 12, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service will follow Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Chapel, Officiated by the Basilian Fathers of St. Nicholas Church. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
