GREGORY HORST BLOCK July 5, 1969 - May 2, 2008 With a very positive attitude Greg fought a courageous battle with brain cancer passing away at home, as he wished, with his beloved wife Bonnie and best friend Kelly at his side. Greg looked at this past year as a gift. He said it made him realize exactly what was most important in his life, his family and home. He cherished the time he shared with his son Marshall, making him breakfast, taking him to and from school. All the small things he felt he missed out on. He made the most of each day doing what he wanted with Bonnie and Marshall, going for lunch with the guys from work, spending time with his Mom and Dad or joking around with Kelly and Kathleen. Laughter was Greg's greatest gift to all of us who had the privilege to know him. Greg always had so much love to give, he lived by giving and thinking of others before himself right up to his final days. Greg will be forever missed and remain dear in our hearts. Greg is also survived by his mother Jeanette, father Horst, his two sisters and their families, in-laws Bill and Diane Evens and family. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Riverview Palliative Care Unit and CancerCare Manitoba. Our special gratitude to Lisa, a true angel, for her compassionate care during Greg's final days at home. A very special thanks to the management and staff at City Bread for their support, friendship and thoughtfulness over this extremely difficult period. A Celebration of Greg's life will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Family and friends are invited to come and share their stories and memories of Greg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Greg's memory to a fund that will be established for Marshall's special needs care. Donations can be made to Marshall Block care of Mosaic Funeral Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R2X 1R3.
