JENNIFER GLORIA (SNIEZEK) KLEMENS On Saturday, May 3, 2008 Jennifer slipped peacefully away into the arms of her Creator at 81 years of age at Riverview Health Centre. She was predeceased by her parents Klemens and Emilia Sniezek, her brothers Michael and Joseph, and her sisters Rose and Adelynne. Left to mourn are her niece Eleanor Kozier (Dennis), grandnephews Christopher, Michael and Daniel, nephew Joseph and grand-niece Grace, as well as her German Spitz Pomeranian companion Rex . Amongst her family, friends and associates Jennifer was appreciated and loved for her ability to recognize the best in others and to offer her best to others. She had a very optimistic view of life. She was efficient, diligent and generous with her time and talents, and always made family her focus. She had a deep compassion for all suffering humanity, and donated to many charitable organizations. Jennifer was born on October 26, 1926 and was raised in Winnipeg. She attended Faraday, Isaac Newton and Margaret Scott schools. Following, she obtained her business training. Her first employment was with Western Savings and Loans Co. Later she was a secretary at Lord Selkirk, Gordon Bell and Kelvin High Schools. In the mid 1960s she attended the University of Winnipeg and completed her B.A. She completed teacher training at the University of Manitoba in 1972 and began teaching for St. Vital School Division at Hastings School till her retirement. She then worked as a substitute teacher and as a secretary for Hearst Equipment. Jennifer attended St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church for many years and was a member of the choir and a lector. She was also an active member of St. John Cantius Fraternal Aid Society, serving as its secretary for six years and as an active member of the Social Committee. In the mid 1990s she joined St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Parish, serving on the parish council and as a lector. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Peter Monty S.J., celebrant. Following, interment took place at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the many Home Care and Palliative Care personnel, and those from the St. Ignatius parish community, who attended Jennifer and were a comfort to her in her last months at home.
