MICHAEL FRANCIS MOTYCKA Mr. Mike Motycka, aged 45 years of Lac du Bonnet, MB, dearly beloved husband of Brenda Louise Romaniuk, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 8, 2008 in Pinawa, MB doing what he loved to do best, from a work-related injury. Besides his wife Brenda, he is also survived by his sons, Jason Motycka, of Alberta and Brian Romaniuk of Winnipeg; his daughters, Emily Motycka of Alberta and Shauna Romaniuk and grandchild Cassidy Romaniuk, both of Winnipeg; his parents Sharron and Stan Motycka and his sister Janine and her husband Michael Gray and their children Keaton and Terran, all of Ontario. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre, Lac du Bonnet, MB with Rev. Robert Murray officiating. Mike received his Diploma in Biological Technology at the Centennial College in Toronto, ON in 1987. He then received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology at the University of Guelph in 1990. He also received his Bachelor of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo. Mike started his career at Atomic Energy of Canada in 1990. Mike was involved with the Lac du Bonnet Fire Department and was also a member of the Pinawa Fire Department. As well, he was a member of the Lac du Bonnet Ambulance services. His compassion was his family and friends. He had many hobbies - fishing, carpentry, reading, among many other things. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund, 303 - 83 Garry Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9. Mike was love and Mike was life.
