ROBERT (WAYNE) CHRISTIE Robert Wayne Christie passed away with family at his side on May 7, 2008 at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia following a lengthy battle with liver disease. Wayne is survived by his wife of 45 years Lynne (Dunn); his two daughters, Darlene Christie of Winnipeg, Bonnie Christie (Wesley Smith) of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia; his one son Rob Christie of Belleville, Ontario; his grandchildren, Aaron and Christie and their partners and his great-grandchild Brooklyn all of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is also survived by his only brother Garth Christie, wife Susan and children Sean (Katie), Shannon, Stephanie and Simon. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba at Trinity United Church at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church auditorium. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donation be made to The Canadian Liver Foundation, P.O. Box 1943, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2. The family would like to greatly express their gratitude to the nursing staff, the medical staff and the transplant team as well as the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. They would also like to express how comforted they were by all the kind wishes of family and friends during Wayne's time in BC.
