ALBERT (AUBIE) REECE 1920 2008 Surrounded by his loving family, Dad left us on May 9, 2008, at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Dad was 87 years old and resided in Ashern, MB. Albert leaves to cherish his memory his three loving daughters, Bernice (Richard), Grace (Lance) and Val; daughter-in-law Joanne; 10 grandchildren, Lorri (Bill), Cindy (Darral), Leslie (Joe), Jonathan (Shelley), Angela, Jayme (Colin), Jason (Lindsay), Jarrett, Whitney and Jessica; 11 beautiful great-grandchildren; sister Cathie; brothers, Don (June) and Fred (June) and many other cherished family members. Dad was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Ombra, his only beloved son Buddy, his loved son-in-law Jerry and his wonderful parents, Fred and Jessie Reece. Dad was born on the family farm in Faulkner, MB on August 5, 1920. He got great satisfaction from his work. In his early years, he worked as a fisherman on Lake Winnipeg and as a labourer at the Spearhill Quarry, but farming was his greatest passion. He bought his farm in Faulkner in 1946. Dad and Mom farmed until 1976, at which time they retired to Ashern. After Mom left us, Dad spent his last few years in the Pioneer Manor enjoying many activities and his special times with sister Cathie. Dad was a warm and loving man with a great sense of humour. He touched many lives in a way never to be forgotten. He lived every day to the fullest enjoying his church, friends and family. He was always there for those in need and ready to lend a helping hand. His faith, strength, courage and love have been his precious gift to us. Dad stood for thinking of others first, yourself last and God always . Thank you, Dad, for being the best Dad in the world. We'll love you forever. Viewing for family and friends will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. A funeral service celebrating Dad's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at the Ashern Centennial Hall with David Fielder officiating. Interment will follow at the Ashern United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be six of his grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason, Jarrett, Cindy, Angela and Jessica. His honorary pallbearers will be his four other grandchildren; Lorri, Leslie, Jayme and Whitney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashern United Church, c/o Carol McDougall, General Delivery, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0. Special thanks to the staff of the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, to his nephew Erwin Gibson for being there for our Dad and for the many people that had been there for Dad over the years.
