Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED DANIEL KENT (KIITASH) July 17, 1945 - May 9, 2008 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, big papa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Wilfred Daniel Kent, at the age 62 years on Friday, May 9, 2008. Wilfred is survived by his wife of 43 years, Isabel Kent; his five children, Winona (Lloyd) Swampy, Wilfred Daniel Kent II, Millie (Gary) Kent, Angela (Cornelius) Abraham, and Josie (Mike) Boehner; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Marge, Marlene, Anita, Florence, Lillian, Harriet and Margaret. Brothers, Eugene, Earl and Lloyd. Numerous nieces and nephews, aunties and many friends. Wilfred was predeceased by his son Wesley Kent; granddaughter Jennifer Abraham; grandson Bertrum Passage; his mother Irene Laforte (nee Kent) and father Daniel Hope. Sisters, Lorna and Sylvia. Brothers, Lloyd (in infancy), Ernest, Fred and wife Lillian Kent. Grandparents, Mary Jane and Edward Kent, and family members, Arthur, Stanley, Mathew, Freddie Kent, Nancy Thompson and Sarah Bird. Wilfred worked for the City of Winnipeg for 12 years in construction; as a Police Constable for his community of Sagkeeng; as a School Bus Driver for the North Shore; as a Warehouse Worker for his community; and as a School Board Member for the Sagkeeng Education Authority for five years, accomplishing the completion of the current Sagkeeng High School. Wake Services will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2008, Monday, May 12, 2008 and Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Christ Anglican Church Hall in Sagkeeng First Nation. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. with Viewing at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, 256 Smith Street, Winnipeg, MB, with Reverend Nancy and Richard Bruyere officiating. Interment at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Pallbearers will be Ernest Laforte, Jarvis Kent, Wesley Kent Jr., Wilfred Daniel Kent III, Jesse Kent, Stephan Swampy, Clifford Guimond and Ritchie Laforte. Honorary Pallbearers will be his brothers, Eugene Laforte, Earl Laforte, Lloyd Laforte, and his grandsons, Lloyd Jaige Swampy Jr. and Brendon Kent. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all the Staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Health Science Centre for the continuous care they provided for our father through the years.
