Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREV. JOSEPH EDMOND UBALD PAQUETTE Reverend Ubald Paquette retired Roman Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Winnipeg passed away at the Ste. Rose General Hospital on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the age of 98 years. Fr. Paquette was born December 7, 1909 at St. Eustache Quebec, Diocese of Montreal. He received his early education in Quebec and his B.A. at the University of Montreal. Fr. Paquette was predeceased by his parents, Abondius and Clementine (nee Desjardins) Paquette and is the last surviving member of the family. Fr. Paquette was ordained on June 6, 1936 for the Archdiocese of Montreal at the Montreal Cathedral by Most Reverend Emmanuel Deschamps, D.D. His service in the Archdiocese of Winnipeg began at Blessed Sacrament Church, Elie, Manitoba (1941-1945). He then served as Pastor of St. Lazare Church, St. Lazare, Manitoba (1945-1955); St. Eustache Church, St. Eustache, Manitoba (1960-1970); Paroisse Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, Laurier, Manitoba (1970-1982). He retired from active ministry on September 5, 1982. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at Ste. Rose de Lima Church in Ste. Rose du Lac, on Tuesday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Ste. Rose de Lima Church on Wednesday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. The Most Reverend V. James Weisgerber, Archbishop of Winnipeg will preside with the interment following in the Ste. Rose Cemetery. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services, Ste. Rose Chapel in care of arrangements.
