KAREN SHEILA BJORNSON It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Sheila Bjornson, aged 53 years, of Gimli, MB. on Saturday May 10, 2008 at the Gimli Community Health Center, beloved daughter of Anna Bjornson and the late Kjartan Bjornson. Sheila was born in the Arborg Hospital on March 22, 1955. She worked as a medical secretary at the Winnipeg Clinic for a number of years before she decided to get back into her chosen career of nursing at which she worked for Betel Home Foundation until her illness. Sheila is survived by her mother Anna of Gimli, her brother David (Barb) of Selkirk, her sister Lorraine (John) of Arnes, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and two aunts. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Sheila's best friend Judy Lindsay and her cousins Janice Abuda and Florence Faaren for their kindness and care of Sheila. Also we would like to thank Dr. Chapnick, the Gimli Community Health Center nursing staff and the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held on Friday May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with Mona Johnson officiating. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
