ALLAN MILLER On Monday, May 12, 2008 after a brief illness, Allan Miller, beloved husband of Bessie, loving son, brother, father and grandfather. Dad will be fondly remembered by his children, Sam, Lianne, Willie and Julie, Murray and Susy, and Rivi and Steven Rogul. He was a tremendous inspiration for his grandchildren, Issy, Max and Genny Miller, Allison, Amy and Adam Rogul, and Jacob Miller. Dad was born in Russia in 1912 and immigrated to Canada in 1920. Although he wanted to become a physician, quotas on Jewish students prevented his entry. He graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in 1939, and served in the army during the war. He married Bessie, the love of his life, in 1950 and they had a wonderful life together until her sudden death in May 2005. Dad remained interested in the events of the day until his final hours. He especially took great delight in the many accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, never missing any occasion despite the travel involved. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Dad was always generous and supported many wonderful causes. Family and friends were his raison d'etre and as a result, our world is a much better place. Funeral services will be held at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue in Winnipeg, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
