MARINA (ANING) MERCADO SENARIS God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Aning passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 12, 2008. Aning is survived by her beloved husband, Edgardo, their children - Jennifer, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Balerie (Philippines) - her brother, Lito (Minda) Mercado, and her three sisters - Josefina Ordonez, Norma Toledo, and Luzonica Mercado, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a very large extended family. Aning was a devoted wife and mother; a supportive, loving presence in the lives of all of her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly for her strength, loyalty, laughter and her talent for storytelling. Aning had a fierce passion for life, which was embodied in her infectious laughter and her penchant for wearing red. Aning was diagnosed with cancer in August 2004. She faced her illness with a strength and determination that was an inspiration to her family and friends. She fought for her health and strove to live each day to its fullest. In the end, Aning accepted her fate with grace and dignity. She spent her last days surrounded by those who loved her. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for Aning, her palliative care nurses, her many friends and co-workers at Boeing Canada, and the members of the Bacao Association of Manitoba for their support. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Thursday and Friday, May 15 and 16, 2008, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street (West St. Paul). Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street. Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 Main Street - 338-7111 Miss Me, But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me. I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that was once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know. Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go. Author Unknown
