MORRISON BIRRELL It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Morrison Birrell on Sunday, May 11, 2008. Morris was born and raised in the Burriss, Ontario area. On his return from serving in the Second World War he joined Manitoba Hydro where he was employed for over 37 years. He spent his retirement years in Selkirk, MB. Morris will be missed and remembered by his wife Eleanor, sons Keith and Jim (Jane); daughters, Bev Bryson (Rod), Laurie (Vern) Brown, Glenda (Louis) Rac and Allison (Don) Rothnie; sister Jessie, brothers, Bill and Tom (Rita) and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the love and attention of seven grandsons, four granddaughters and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his first wife Eileen and his parents, Elizabeth and Morrison Birrell. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean Ave. in Selkirk with Rev. Ken DeLisle officiating. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare MB, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 9Z9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
