JAMES THOMAS MCLENNAN It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, James Thomas McLennan on May 10, 2008 in their family home in the comfort of his favourite chair, with his cherished wife, Janey by his side and his favourite cat CeCe, in his lap. Left with broken hearts to mourn his passing and cherish his memory forever are his children and grandchildren; Lana (Jeff) Baron and children Britni and James; Glenn (Kathy) McLennan and children, Griffin, Graeson and Kellen, and Colleen (Derek) Walker and children Ryan and Jessica; sister Janice (Doug Bisset) and many friends and neighbours. James is predeceased by his ever-loved parents Fraser and Edith; sister Marjorie and beloved Grandma Frank . James (Jim) was born on December 19, 1930 in Cracknell, Manitoba. He loved growing up in the country where he shared many wonderful memories with his cousins and friends in the Assissippi Valley. Our dad came to Winnipeg in 1950 where he worked for Roger's Fruit and the CPR. Our Dad then moved to Canada Post where he worked driving a truck and then as a letter carrier. He retired after 25 years and received special commendations from Canada Post and the community for his exceptional service. Our beloved father was a jack-of-all-trades, always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what the project and loving every minute of it. He loved nature and enjoyed working in his meticulous garden and yard. Grandpa's favourite pastime was caring for his seven grandchildren and attending all their sports, school and recreational activities. Hockey was a passion, especially when his grandsons played. The family would like to extend their thanks to First Responder Paramedics, Ambulance attendants and the Grace Hospital Emergency Room staff for their valiant attempts to save our father. Special thanks to dear neighbours, Monique and Brian. Celebration of James' life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
