Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA BIRNIE It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Vera Birnie, great-grandmother, grandmother, mother on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Middlechurch Home. Vera was predeceased by her husband George and her parents James and Ann Olstead and grandson Darren Bain. She leaves to mourn three daughters, Joanne (John), Marilyn (Ed) and Joyce, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Vera was born in Oberon, MB on September 10, 1913. She taught school at Tobarmore, Riding Mountain, Mountain View and Eden. She belonged to Eastern Star for 50 years. She had also been a Rebecca member. After she retired, she loved to travel. She loved her summers at the cabin at Clear Lake. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff members of the Middlechurch Home for their extra care and concern. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Liver Foundation. Funeral services, 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, Knox Presbyterian Church, 396 - 1st Street, Neepawa, MB.
