Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE ATKINSON May 23, 1941 - April 2, 2008 Following two lengthy hospital stays, Alice passed away at the Heritage Lodge in Winnipeg. Alice was born in Penticton, BC and her early years were spent in Selkirk and Portage la Prairie, and later in Winnipeg as a Personal Care Aide. Known as Auntie Alice to the children of many friends, she had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in a Salvation Army choir. She was an avid curler, serving as Secretary of the Crocus Curling Club. Her beautifully crocheted blankets and other handcrafted items are cherished by those to whom she gifted them. Those of us who have been privileged to share with Alice the friendship, laughter, caring, and hugs, will miss our dear friend. Very special thanks to Bev and Nancy, who brought so much joy into Alice's life during these past years, and to her special buddy Ruthie, who was such a good friend to Alice when she lived at her Stradbrook residence. A service celebrating Alice's life will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00 p.m. at 400 Stradbrook Avenue, Rev. Dr. Eleanor Geib officiating.
