CAROLINE FRANCIS HALUSZYNSKI (FRANKOWSKI) 1915 - 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our most cherished and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother ... our Baba on Monday, May 12, 2008 nestled in the arms of her daughter. Mom had a very challenged life. Born in Beausejour, MB she helped look after the family upon her mother's death when she was only 13. As a young woman she lived in St. Catherine, Ont. and worked as a live-in nanny until she married Michael in December 1942. Living in Winnipeg's north end, together they raised three children and faced the many challenges of family life and illness. Never did she complain about her life and always chose to see the positive side of every situation. It troubled her deeply to see people in pain and suffering. Family was her great joy and happiness, especially family gatherings with her grand and great-grandchildren. Baba was truly a peaceful person with the most caring, thoughtful, and generous spirit that one could possess. She taught us the meaning of unconditional love, forgiveness and patience. She always put her family first and had no wants for herself except that everyone be happy . We will always remember her vegetable garden and those great peas and raspberries that she loved to share. We will also remember her yummy perogies, hot garlic sausage and great sense of humour. It was not what she said but how she said it that kept us laughing. We have been incredibly blessed for all the humour, love, warmth and beautiful memories Baba has left in our hearts. She was one of those very special people who lived according to the word of God and always looked forward to attending Mass and practicing her religious faith on a daily basis. For many years she was a member of Holy Ghost Church and St. John's Cantius. She lived in her own home until the age of 82 and moved into Holy Family Nursing Home in 1999. The staff of Holy Family has always treated her with great dignity and compassion. Our family would like to thank the staff and many volunteers who were part of her life and have etched a place in our hearts forever. We are eternally grateful for your loving ways . A very special thank you to the nurses and primary caregivers on 4A. Caroline was predeceased by her husband Michael (1974), her mother Prakseda and father Adam, brothers Frank, Joe and Kashmir; sisters Helen and Mary. She leaves to mourn her children: Melvin; Madeline (Al) Howes; and Julie (Terry Lewycky). She will be dearly missed by her granddaughters Angie (Brad) Steinberger, and Samantha and Jenna Lewycky. Also by her great-grandchildren Ashley and Austin Steinberger and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Some Friendships are for Always We've shared the kind of closeness That's grown deeper through the years. We've seen the ups, we've seen the downs We've shared the smiles and tears. And through it all I've learned one thing That there would never be, A Dearer Mother in all the world Than the Mother you were to me. Connections that are deep and powerful live forever in a place far beyond words and that is indescribably beautiful. For all the agony of loss, I would not trade the beauty and power of that connection for anything. In accordance with Baba's wishes her body has been donated to medical research. Please say a prayer in memory of Baba. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Family Nursing Home. A family memorial will be held at a later date. Love you forever Baba Vichnaya Pamyat
