ROBERT FAICKNEY August 6, 1920 - May 10, 2008 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) Faickney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob will be lovingly missed by his wife of 63 years Bernice. He also leaves to mourn his passing nine children: Rusty (Terry) of Sundre, AB; Marsha (Miles) of Winnipeg, MB; Geordie (Sherry) of Calgary, AB; Miles (Charlotte) of Saskatoon, SK; Kathleen (John) of Mission, BC; Karen (Carl) of Thompson, MB; Ian (Sheila) of Mission, BC; Bonnie of Sundre, AB; and Tim of Winnipeg, MB; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Bob was born in Glasgow, Scotland, only son to Geordie and Annie Faickney and brother to two sisters Jean and Margaret. Bob served in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945 and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Burntwood Branch No. 244 in Thompson, MB where he served as president for several years. He worked for INCO in Thompson from 1962 until his retirement in 1985. Bob was predeceased by his parents and both sisters. A private family service will be held at Mountain View Chapel in Olds, AB.
