LINDA DRESSEL (nee SCHMIDT) It is with regret and deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Linda, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Linda was born in Russia in 1919. She immigrated to Canada as a young child. Linda is survived by her loving husband Walter, and sister Carrie Conley. Linda will always be remembered by her children Robert Dressel, Lawrence Dressel (Pat) and Maureen McDonnell (Greg); as well by her grandchildren, who were a great source of pride for her; Glen Pollock (Suzanne), Ted McDonnell, Andrew McDonnell, Jennifer Dressel and Katherine Dressel; great-granddaughter Jolie Dressel. Linda and Walter spent many years at their cottage, where she enjoyed fishing, family visits, berry picking, reading, crocheting and of course, a great game of scrabble. Linda was a passionate gardener and always looked forward to the spring time to once again nurture her plants. Linda had a great sense of pride in her culinary skills and the family reaped the rewards. Linda had a keen interest in world politics and many were the days you would find her and Walter discussing political issues with a passion. She was an environmentalist, even before the phrase was coined. Linda's zest for life and dedication to her family will be greatly missed. A gathering to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the family home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Send expressions of sympathy at www.mem.com
