Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES RONALD (RON) ALSOP August 22 , 1940 May 16 , 2008 It is with incredible sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend, James Ronald Alsop (Ron) at his home on May 16, 2008. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife and best friend of 45 years, Gladys, his three loving children, Ronny (Rodney) Moore, Sherri (Kim) Johnston and Jamie (Cindy). Adored grandkids, Justin and Jenna, Melissa (Chris), Jarret and Kurtis, Taylor, Sheridan and Devon. Also brothers, Dave (Bev), Dick , Ted (Joan); sisters, and brothers-in-law; Linda Vink, Bev (Lawrence) Didora, Brian (Minh) Unrau, Cecil (Christine) Unrau, Shirley (Gordon) Beaudin and numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, father James Alsop (Nina), mother Shirley Lumley (Lawrence), mother-in-law Betty (Nana) Unrau and brothers-in-law, Ted Unrau and Roland Vink. Ron was an incredible craftsman when it came to woodworking which later evolved into his love for model railroading, where he created landscape after landscape. Handcrafting everything from bare wood to magnificent towns which will be admired and enjoyed for many years. Another passion Ron had was for his 1946 Chevy Pick-Up, on which he spent countless hours restoring until finally taking it on his first ride. His number one passion was his wife and best friend who was also his interior and exterior designer. Ron was in his glory as long as he had something to do for his sweetie. Although Ron was not a man of many words , he was always the first one to show up to do any work for his children or grandchildren and Grandpa did not know how to say, no. Life will never be the same. You can come and share in our memory at Eastview Community Church, 3500 DeVries Ave. on Thursday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's memory to Janz Team Ministries , 2121 Henderson Hwy. We love you Dad , you will always be in our hearts
