Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILLIP ARTHUR (ART) PICKERING It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Phillip Arthur Pickering (Art), formerly of Sandy Hook, Manitoba on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Art was born near Underhill, Manitoba, the youngest of seven boys of James and Emily Pickering. Art joined the First Canadian Parachute Battalion serving overseas as a fully qualified member. Art is survived by his wife of 63 years, Notie, his children, Emily (Jim), Jim (Anne), Ken, Bob, Karen (Dale); daughter-in-law Wendy; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, in-laws May and Ken, Lena and Ted and Bill and Marry; and several nieces and nephews including Orville and Jim. Our sincerest thanks to Chris for being a rock for us and many thanks to Baldur, Joyce and Marlene for all your time and help. Cremation has taken place with no formal service. A private gathering will take place with family and friends at a later date. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers. Gilbarts Funeral Home in Selkirk in care of arrangements.
