Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA HALMARSON (nee ADMIRAAL) Peacefully, on Friday, May 16, 2008, Evadine Anne Halmarson passed away at the age of 94 years at her residence in Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie, MB. Eva is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Norman Halmarson of Portage la Prairie, sons Doug (Jan) Halmarson of Portage la Prairie, Don (Marjorie) Halmarson of Okotoks, AB and Jim (Cindy) Halmarson of Saskatoon, SK, grandchildren Erica (Ryan), Gillian (Andy), Sarah and Danny (Sarah). Eva was born in Wolseley, SK on November 3, 1913. In her life she lived in Regina, Edmonton, Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg. She devoted herself to her family. Her hospitality and loving nature made her home a special place for friends and family. She was an excellent cook and was happiest making meals, baking cookies and entertaining. In everything she did Eva had a special flair. Eva had a zest for life and was always willing to learn, taking up golf when she was 65 and loving it. Games and puzzles were a passion for her and she was a fierce competitor. She remained a lively conversationalist right to the end. Faith was a guiding influence in Eva's life and she was deeply involved in church life wherever she lived. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's-St. Bede's Church in Winnipeg, providing leadership in many important ways. A Memorial Service led by The Venerable Norman Collier took place on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 36 - 2nd St. SW, Portage la Prairie, MB. The family wishes to thank the staff of Douglas Campbell Lodge and West Park Manor for their kindness and excellent care. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Eva's memory to a charity of their choice. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Eva by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. 857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
