Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN VICTOR HUMBERT It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Victor Humbert on May 17, 2008 at the age of 87. John was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, and brother, Delbert and leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Reta (Fraser) of Teulon and Doris (Paci) of Missouri, brother Lloyd (Quebec), daughter Sharron (Stanley) of Libau, son Ken (Laura) of Teulon, and daughters Sandra of Winnipeg and Darlene of White Rock, BC. He will also be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. John was born and raised in Sperling, Manitoba. He worked in Wabowden on a trap-line, as an Army M.P. and also for the CN railway. He and Marg settled in North Kildonan, where he lived and worked until 1955 when they moved the family to the Petersfield area. He then farmed, worked as a plasterer, and was employed for CN for 19 years. Though a very private man, John especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and was getting to know and love his great-grandson. He spent several years as a winter Texan and enjoyed walking and watching Bluejay baseball. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Drs. Graham and Pillay and the nurses and staff of the Teulon Hunter Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care. Special thanks to all those at Gateway Manor who were always willing to help. It was John's wish that no service be held, and gifts of flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in his name may be made to the Winnipeg Children's Hospital Foundation (CE 501, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
