Arnold was born in Fraud, Saskatchewan on January 21, 1944. When he was a young boy, the family moved to Sprague, Manitoba, and later the Giroux area. Arnold later moved to Winnipeg and met Isabelle in 1962. They married in 1966, and later moved to LaBroquerie with their two young sons. Arnold fulfilled his dream of buying a farm, and they moved to the farm near LaBroquerie in 1973. They had two daughters, and raised their family on the farm until they moved to Steinbach in 1995. Arnold was always an extremely hard worker and began working in the bush around the age of fourteen. He later worked at Maple Leaf Mills before working on the farm full time. When he was 46, he began driving semi for Kleyson Transport. In 1998, Isabelle joined him on the road, and they bought their own truck and became owner operators. They later worked for Bison Transport and drove truck together for 10 years. Arnold was a strong gentle man who enjoyed his family and friends immensely. His greatest love was his grandchildren, and he enjoyed taking them camping and on outings to Tinkertown and the zoo. Later in life he found his passion for golf, and went on many golf and camping trips with family and friends. Arnold also relaxed by mowing his perfectly manicured lawn and took great pride in their beautiful yard. He also had a love for old western movies, and would always make time to watch The Rifle Man on Friday nights. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Our Saviour Parish, Steinbach, Manitoba with Father Louis Vielfaure officiating. Following the service, the gathering of friends and family will be held in the parish hall, with interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. • This time of the year, with Christmas getting close, is always especially difficult since you passed away. We had such good times with you. You were family but you were also such a good friend. You were always there to help out when family or friends needed you. We knew we could always count on you and Isabelle to attend our family functions whether it was a wedding, special birthdays and anniversaries. We appreciate how difficult it must have been at times as your driving job sometimes took you many days away from home. You worked so hard but you always put family first. We will always remember your unique laugh, your warmth, your kindness, your generosity and the love you had for your family. We miss you very much. - Posted by: Simone & Lawrence Rasmussen (friend & sister/brother-in-law) on: Nov 21, 2015

  • Dear papa, No matter how many times I think about it, it still doesn't feel like you're gone. I still expect to walk into Memeres house and see you sitting at the end of the table with your pink striped coffee mug, or your glass of vodka and 7. It's hard to believe it's already been 5 years since you've left us, when it only feels like yesterday that I was going on trips with you and Memere in the big truck, or going with you to cancer care. I wish you could be here to see how much we've all grown up. Zacks in grade 5 already going into grade 6. Vanessa is the tallest 12 year old I've ever seen. Ashley just passed her beginners, and I'm going to school something I'd never thought I'd be doing. I know you're seeing all this from heaven but I wish you were here to experience it with us. Most of all, I wish you were here to meet Trist. I know you two would get along, and you'd like him very much, just as the rest of the family does. I love calling Memeres house just to get the answering machine and being able to hear your voice just one more time. I wish heaven had a phone so I could actually talk to you instead, and that heaven had visiting hours because a hug from you sometimes is what I need ! I hope I'm making you proud papa. I love you so much. No words could ever describe how much I love you and am grateful to have you as my grandpa even if the time was cut short. See you later. I love you, Kaitlynd. <3 - Posted by: Kaitlynd Ouellet. (Granddaughter) on: May 19, 2013
