GERALD JOSEPH ARNAUD October 12, 1939 - May 19, 2008 Gérald completed this life's journey the morning of May 19, 2008. True to his nature, his struggle with cancer was done with faith, courage and without complaint. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Irène (nee Léger), his daughter Louise Flood (John), his daughter Annette Aljets (Kelvin), his son Maurice (Viola) and his grandchildren, Vanessa, Katrina and Dominic, as well as his brothers, Olivier, Gilbert (Melisse) and sister-in-law Astrid (Joe). He will also be sadly missed by numerous family members, including many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Gaston, his mother Alice (Cyr) and his siblings, Maurice, Louise, Florent and Reine (Hautcoeur). He will be remembered for his patience, thoughtfulness, wisdom and kindness to all. A teacher with heart, he taught us many life lessons. Always the attentive listener, he had the gift of charity and will be missed by the numerous people he has touched. Papa's joys in life came from long bike rides, numerous square dances, endless renovations and quality time with his family. The family would like to thank the staff on 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (ph. 787-4143). A celebration of his life will be held at Précieux-Sang Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street on Friday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
