GEORGE JOSEPH CLARKE JR. December 22, 1928 May 20, 2008 It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle George Joseph Clarke Jr. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish his memory forever are his children, Valerie (Franklyn), Rhonda (Allen), Randolph, Leslie, Lorene (Sharon), Barbara, Karen, Cathy (Floyd), and Calvin, 20 grand-children, 17 great-grandchildren, his brother Philip and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Annie in 2001, his parents George Sr. and Margaret Clarke, brothers Patrick, John (in infancy), sisters Joyce, Irene (in infancy), his father and mother-in-law Colin and Catherine Smith. Dad was a very generous, loving person and gave of himself at every opportunity. He had a great love for all his children and grand-children and always made sure all were looked after. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care and kindness provided for dad by the nurses and health care aides throughout his lengthy stay at the Pine Falls Health Complex. You're care and compassion will not be forgotten. Prayers and wake services will be held Friday, May 23 at the Manigotogan Recreation Centre beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 24 at the Manigotogan Recreation Centre at 1:00 p.m. At dad's wishes cremation will follow and a private interment will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be grandsons Kevin Clarke, Billy-Jo Courchene, Terry Courchene, Grant Clarke and nephews Allan Kennedy and Harold Simard. Honorary pallbearers will be all dad's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
