Marie was a stay at home Mom, when her children were old enough she returned to work for the Manitoba Government Dept. of Education. In 1995 Marie was diagnosed with cancer and was diagnosed terminal about six years ago. Marie fought a courageous fight with breast cancer for many years with her Gerry always at her side. One day at a time and God in her heart she always maintained a good attitude with a will to live, love and laugh. Marie was a strong believer and supporter of Al-Anon to live the design for living of the twelve steps. Constantly supporting and encouraging her Gerry for over thirty years, always ready to welcome those who sought our place for refuge or help. Marie loved her leisure travel van treating it all those years as her little cabin on wheels. Above all Marie loved her family, her loving husband Gerry and she dearly cherished her granddaughters. Marie and Gerry were teenage sweethearts married over 44 years, her impish look and her famous smile could not be denied. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother Marie had patience. She had an immeasurable amount of qualities in which she could send a loving message just by her presence that would light up any room. She always forgave and was always ready to give and help Gerry who has always said that he never saw any defects in her regards. Marie and Gerry had many friends who gave their hearts and support through the past years. A special thank you to Drs. M and R Davey, Dr. Lysack and mgr. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It's a beautiful blue sky sunny warm morning as I walk and listen to the chatter of Seagulls awaiting the ocean tides going out and revealing another days breakfast buffet. A city worker quietly rides by on a lawnmower circling Boulevard trees leaving a freshly cut grass aroma in the air while mixing with perfumed flower's.This is my Today, as it was my yesterday, but tomorrow is up to God. All I have is now. Cherish what you have in the present and live in this very moment. For your time is not long nor is your time short. IT'S NOW. Happy April 11th Wedding Anniversary to the memory of my Mom and Dad. Love Joey - Posted by: Joey Smith (Son) on: Apr 11, 2022

  • My Mother has always and will continue to always have a place in my heart. She was a loving, caring, and forgiving delight in my life. I was very blessed to have a stay at home mother throughout my childhood. I miss her hugs. I would like to thank our creator for giving me the opportunity to say goodbye to my mother before she passed. Heaven has another angel. Love your son always. - Posted by: Joseph Smith (Son) on: Dec 07, 2012
