Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH JOHN HENRY MCDONALD (Spotted Eagle Man) November 8, 1944 - May 21, 2008 Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 63 years, John went to join our beloved creator and his parents. John was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba and was raised in Crane River, where he resided with his wife Diane McDonald until his passing. One of John's greatest accomplishments was his 18 years as leader of O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi First Nation. John had numerous friends, nieces, nephews and past co-workers all too numerous to mention. He had a special relationship with each and everyone. John was predeceased by his father Henry McDonald, and his mother Margaret Moar. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories his wife and loving partner of 40 years and mother of his children, Diane McDonald, his daughters Cynthia (Jerry Marsden), Reva (Jeff Thibeault) and his son Trent (Betty Moar); his grandchildren George McDonald, Dylan Desjarlais, Kendra McDonald, Trenton Moar and Jonnie Desjarlais. John will also be missed by his brothers Russell (Eileen), Barry (Marceline) Pete, Roger (Eve), Dennis (Georgina) and Sheldon (Stephanie). John and Diane raised one of their grandsons, George. He had a special place in his papa's heart. George's papa will miss their special talks, smudging him, hunting trips and making hockey bets with George. John will be missed by his special adopted sister Doris Fontaine (Edgar). John will be coming home to his community of O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi for a traditional wake and prayer service on Saturday, May 24, 2008 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the J.A.R. Centre, Crane River. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.A.R. Centre. Fr. Norberto Monton will officiate with the interment following in the Crane River Reserve Cemetery. Ste.
