Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN ZIRK It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Martin Zirk in the early morning of Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the age of 93 years. He now joins his loving wife, Hildegard, who predeceased him on March 28, 2007. Dad will be fondly remembered by his children, Orlando (Ann) Zirk; Kurt (Kathy) Zirk; Annette (Herb) Frailick; Deb (Hartley) Pokrant; Pat (Ron) Woligroski; Peggy (Chris) Orr; grandchildren, Richard (Danielle) Zirk, Jodine (Scott MacDuff), Landon Morris, Ryan and Karlie-Rae Zirk, Bob and Sheri Frailick, Lori (Garth) Kroeker, Justin Pokrant, Brenden and Trevor Woligroski, Stephen, Carly, and Lauren Anderson, and Matthew Orr; and great-grandchildren, Aaron and Thomas Kroeker, Logan MacDuff, and ChloƩ Zirk. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Herman, Art and Edmund, and sisters Lydia (Fey), Olga (Otto) and Rosie (Tiffenbach). He is survived by his sister Eleanor (Roy) Fiebelkorn, and sisters-in-law Adella Zirk, Madge Zirk of Maple Ridge, BC, Elizabeth Hemminger, Adele Patzer, Eleanor Gatzke, and brother-in-law Ed (Gladys) Neurenberg, and many nephews and nieces. Dad was born April 9, 1915 on a farm in Stead, Manitoba. He married our mother, Hildegard Neurenberg in 1940 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2006. Dad and Mom farmed in Glenmoor, MB, and in the early years, Dad would go trapping and cut pulpwood in the winter. Dad was a devoted husband and father who worked hard to ensure his family was always provided for. Dad was a school trustee at the Glenmoor School for a number of years and also served on the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Council. In 1981, after 41 years of farming Dad and Mom retired to Beausejour. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff in the Rose Unit at East Gate Lodge where Dad lived for the past three years. The dignity, respect, kindness and care given to our Dad will never be forgotten. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 403 First Street N., Beausejour, MB with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. To those who wish, donations in memory of our Dad may be made to East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
