BEATRICE FRANCESCA MARIE GIROUARD (nee Beaugrand dit Champagne) Suddenly, on May 20, 2008 at the age of 86, our mother Beatrice Girouard (nee Beaugrand dit Champagne) passed away while at the Victoria General Hospital. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Richard (Jerome) of Montreal, Quebec; Henri (Bev) and Louis (Cindy) of St. Vital; and eight grandchildren, Ian, Steve, Bryan, Jason, Rachel, Brandon, Sarah and Jordan. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Florence (Marcel Asselin), lrene Lagace, Denise Normandeau, Claire Bohemier, Joe (Doreen Decaigny) and Alfred (Jeanette Gauthier) and many nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by all her friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Adrien Girouard in October 1994; her father Alphonse Champagne in 1963; her mother Francesca Baril in 1930; brothers and sisters, Gustave (1994), Simone (1976), Roland (1944), Lucille (1944) and Lucien (1918). Beatrice was born on June 17, 1921 in St. Norbert, Manitoba. She went to school at the St. Norbert Convent for girls. During the Second World War Mom worked at the Cordite plant in Transcona. She started working for Swift's in the 1950s. Her nickname at Swift's was Tiny . Mom and Dad were married on January 31, 1959 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. They eventually moved to Somerset, Manitoba where Dad worked for the Manitoba Telephone System. Mom enjoyed reading, crosswords, Bingo and horse racing at the Downs. Her greatest passion was watching curling. Mom, we will miss you very much. We love you with all our hearts. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Rd., on Monday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at a later date.
