HILDA AMELIA MOORE WADE (nee HUTCHISON) Peacefully, on May 23, 2008, in her 100th year, Hilda passed away at Golden Links Lodge in Winnipeg. Hilda was born on the family homestead near Virden, MB, on January 30, 1909. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Dora Hutchison, her brothers, Clifford and Gordon, sisters, Mary McCauley, Mary Hazel (in infancy) and Meretta May (in infancy). Surviving her are sister Myrtle Mouritsen and brother James Albert and several nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart. Hilda was also predeceased by her husbands, Ralph Moore and Frank Wade, as well as by her son William Grant Moore. Her dear friend Jim Milne also predeceased her. Hilda is survived by her daughter Doreen (Richard), daughter-in-law Joyce, stepson John (Marilyn), stepdaughters, Judy and Jill (Don), as well as 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandson. Hilda, over the years, was a devoted member of the United Church of Canada and the U.C.W., a leader of C.G.I.T., an avid curler, life member and past president of the Grain Exchange Curling Club and a charter member and past president of the St. Boniface/St. Vital Inner Wheel. She loved to paint in oils and has left many paintings for her family to treasure. Hilda's devotion to her Creator and to her family was the source of her strength in the face of life's challenges throughout her 100 years. Her commitment to us was unwavering, as was her faith. Hilda's family would like to express our deep and profound gratitude to the staff at Golden Links Lodge and also at Grace Hospital (2nd floor south) for their outstanding professional skill, compassion, respect and kindness shown to Mom and to each of us as we walked with her through this final stage of her life. A very special thank you to Carol Burrows for her love and support for Mom over the past few years. A celebration of Hilda's life will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St., Winnipeg, with burial to take place in Penticton, BC.
