SYLVIA ANNE KOZUSKO May 3, 1945 May 17, 2008 After a brief, but courageous battle with cancer, Sylvia passed away in Spruce Grove, Alberta on May 17, 2008 at the age of 63 years. Courage is a rare quality that few people are lucky to possess. Sylvia was a beautiful, loving, caring and generous person. Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband Nelson and her son Craig. Sylvia was a very devoted daughter to mom Irene Royko of Winnipeg. Also surviving her is her sister Karen (Dave) Edwards of Kelowna, BC; nephew Gregory Inge of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Neil Hutsal (Manon), niece Jade Hutsal, all of Moose Jaw, SK; sister-in-law Beverly (Garry) Vien and their daughters Shannon and Tracy; very dear friends Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wolynski of Vancouver, BC. Sylvia was predeceased by her father, Gregory (Roy) Royko on November 7, 1996 and sister Kim Hutsal on September 12, 2003. Sylvia was born in Grand Falls, NL on May 3, 1945, moving to Winnipeg in August of 1945. Sylvia and Nelson were married on May 15, 1965 and lived in Winnipeg until their move to Spruce Grove in 1994. They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary at their favourite restaurant Red Lobster and gambling just a few days before she died. Sylvia loved to sing and was part of Eaton's Choir and was one of the wives in The King and I at Rainbow Stage. Sylvia and Nelson loved to travel and fulfilled a dream by going to Hawaii in February 2008 with friends, Bernice and Mickey Polischtak. The family extends a special thanks to cousins Mike and Leanne Kozuska of Camrose, AB for their great support of Nelson during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sylvia's life will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, #1 Green Acres Lane at Hwy. No. 1 East just inside the Perimeter.
